South Dakotan Native American activist Leonard Peltier has been imprisoned in the USA for over 40 years despite concerns over the fairness of his trial. Currently held at the Coleman Federal Correctional Complex in Florida, the threat of COVID-19 underscores the urgency of this call. Peltier is 75 years old and has serious health concerns. He suffers from diabetes and other health issues, and in January 2016 was diagnosed with an abdominal aortic aneurysm, which can be fatal if it ruptures.
