South Florida has historically welcomed refugees escaping violence and political persecution. It is important to continue this tradition by welcoming resettled refugees into our vibrant multicultural community with open arms.
“By passing resolutions in Miami Beach, and hopefully later in other municipalities throughout Miami-Dade County, we are declaring that our community welcomes refugees resettled here, and that we denounce any misleading messages of fear or hatred surrounding these vulnerable families fleeing the most desperate conditions.”
