Please join us for a short film screening of the documentary “This Being Human” on Thursday, May 28th 5pm – 6pm PST in celebration of International Amnesty Day.
This Being Human is about Hameed — a young man who left everything behind in war-torn Iraq at 15, in a solo quest for a brighter more peaceable future. Now 23, Hameed’s salvation is a scholarship in Seattle bound by a big altruistic dream. From flight to refuge, the film seeks to humanize the facelessness of emigration and celebrate personal tales of resiliency.
We’ll have a Q&A session with:
Hameed, the subject of the film
Aimie Vallat, the film director
Deb Stein, Amnesty International or Gavrilah Wells, Amnesty International Group 30
Aria Brock International Rescue Committee HOME Connect program
Jasmina Bojic, UNAFF Founder and Film Festival Director
