Please join us for a virtual performance of “The Understanding” by Rachel Rubin Ladutke in commemoration of the International Day for the Right to the Truth Concerning Gross Human Rights Violations and for the Dignity of Victims!  March 24th is also the anniversary of the 1976 coup that resulted in the enforced disappearances and torture of approximately 30,000 Argentinians.  Come hear the story of two sisters who learn the truth about their adoption, the death of their parents, and their previously unknown Jewish heritage.

Rachel based the characters and the events in her play on the testimonials of survivors from sources such as the report from the Argentine National Commission on the Disappearance of Persons.  She also had the opportunity to meet with one of the Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo. The New Works Virtual Festival featured Rachel’s “The Wickham Way” as part of its fundraiser for the Actors Fund in December 2020.  (THE WICKHAM WAY (Rachel Rubin Ladutke & Lisa Brigantino) – New Works Virtual Festival #14.)

This event is a fundraiser for North Jersey Amnesty International (Group 1012)  A suggested donation of $10 is requested.
