Learn what you can do to hold officials accountable to protecting the right to peaceful protest!  According to Amnesty International’s recently published report titled: The World Is Watching: Mass Violations By U.S. Police of Black Lives Matter Protesters’ Rights, the US is in clear violation of protecting the right to protest.  The report documents cases of Black Lives Matter protesters and journalists who have been physically harmed and/or experienced unlawful arrest.

Amnesty is calling all activists to help deliver this report to local police and safety officers, mayors, governors, state attorney general, city council/town administrators, and congressional leaders.

This teach in will provide participants with the following:

  • Provide summary of key-findings from the World is Watching report
  • Discuss strategy for delivering the report
  • Skills and best practices for how to engage with law enforcement
  • Planning and coordinating a report delivery
