Marzoug Touati, a Kabyle blogger sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Algerian justice for having an interview with an Israeli diplomat. An unjust and liberticidal sentence that is added to the many violations of the most basic rights of citizens. The Algerian regime has taken our people hostage and condemns it to humiliation and violence for any reason. 10 years in prison for a citizen who reports information that everyone knows. We are here as citizens of Algeria to denounce this injustice. We are gathered here as citizens who animate freedom to let the world know that the Algerian power deprives us of all our rights, that the Algerian government denies us a free expression. We are appealing to the world to draw our attention to our suffering people. For 15 years, two million citizens have fled our country, yet so rich and so vast that we live in dignity. We cry out our indignity for this condemnation and we demand that the young MARZOUG TOUATI be released immediately. We call all America, this country whose declaration of independence begins with this magnificent phrase: “all men are created equal, they are endowed by the creator of certain inalienable rights, among these rights is life, freedom and the search for happiness “. We are fighting for these rights on our land and we hope that solidarity will be granted in the name of a humanity that the Algerian government forbids.
