Group 463 meets the first Thursday of every month to plan public events ,write Urgent Action letters and take actions on our “long term case work” . In addtion we organize a weekly “No Ban No Wall”
463 Group meetings are always action oriented. We plan public events designed to bring attention in this small rural commmunity to issues of human rights, locally , statewide, nationally and internationally .
In adddtion to our regular efforts, we currently hold a street demo every Friday from 12 noon to 12.30p,m on 7th Street ., calling for an end to all bans on refugees, the building of a wall on our southern border and for the need to respect the riights of all immigrants regardless of their documents. We are also working with our city council to formulate and pass a resoluion of solidarity with larger NM towns which are resettling refugees.
We are now in our 3rd year of working with AI members in Germany, Spain and France on behalf of the rights of the people of a small village in occupied Palestine.
We maintain close contact with our federal legislators whom we lobby regularly on human rights issues.
