Maine AI Action Team Meeting

Do you live in the Portland, Maine area and want to protect human rights in your community? Well we have just the place for you! Come join our newly formed Maine Amnesty International Action Team to spread awareness and strive to defend human rights. We will be meeting the 2nd Tuesday of every Month at PelotonLabs 6PM-7:30PM.
Our next meeting will be held Tuesday, June 13th 6PM-7:30PM. This will be our third meeting together and all are welcome to join! In the upcoming meeting we will continue to focus on Refugee Rights and discuss how to take action.
In last week’s meeting we developed a plan to meet in person with Senator Collins to discuss the NoBanNoWall initiative and refugee rights. We also handed out petitions to gain support to close the Berks County Detention Center and ultimately work towards ending family detention. Lastly, we are planning to participate in Portland’s Pride Festival! Other goals going forward include participating in the Portland Farmer’s market and having an AI booth at the Common Ground Fair in September!
