Banned Books Benefit

Set to have guest speakers such as professors from Arkansas State University like Dr. Gregory Hansen, individuals from CAPES (Citizens for Arkansas Public Education and Students) and Young Democrats of Arkansas. Aside from guest speakers, we will also have local artists and musicians perform and speak on their perspectives.

The event will remain casual with light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres provided. The main event will entail spotlighting individuals from Amnesty International’s focus cases list this year. We will educate about the cases, get their stories known, and read/listen to some of their works. Side activities include letter writing stations, petitions to sign, and banned book reading, and advocacy packets for guests to take home.
