Take the 7-Day Challenge to Help Stop Starvation in Gaza

Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip are facing horrifying levels of starvation—and now, Israel has turned aid sites into death traps.

Under Israel’s new militarized “aid” system—implemented by the U.S.-Israel-backed “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” (GHF)—hundreds have been killed and thousands injured while trying to reach distribution points.

Amnesty’s researchers are documenting the unthinkable: families are forced to choose between starvation and being shot. Infants are dying from malnutrition. Mothers can’t produce milk because their bodies are breaking down. Meanwhile, warehouses of aid sit untouched.

Israel is blocking food, clean water, medical supplies, and fuel from legitimate humanitarian organizations. The U.S. must stop backing and funding this system.

Our advocacy is working. Even President Trump acknowledged what he called “real starvation” in Gaza—but we can’t stop until we see real change: demand the U.S. government support the immediate restoration of the UN-led humanitarian system and the lifting of the siege and blockade on Gaza, and to oppose weapons sales and transfers to Israel.

Join us and take our 7-Day Challenge

Take one action per day to help build pressure and momentum. You can start this challenge any day. Do it solo or with friends. What matters most is that we act now.

Day 1: Sign & Share Our Action

Add your name to demand an end to Israel’s genocide in Gaza, the dismantling of the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,” and the restoration of real, life-saving aid. Then share it widely.

Day 2: Read and Share Firsthand Testimony

Read this harrowing new testimony from Amnesty’s field worker in Gaza. Email it to your Senators and Representative. Send it through the White House comment form, demanding they oppose the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation and support immediate, unimpeded humanitarian access to Gaza.

Day 3: Blast it on Social Media

Share the testimony on your social media and in comments. Where possible, tag your Members of Congress, @realdonaldtrump and @amnestyusa. Use hashtags like #EndTheBlockade #RealAidNow #GazaGenocide to raise visibility.

Day 4: Make the Call

Call the offices of your two Senators – we’ve set up a phone line that will prepare you with some talking points and connect you directly here: 347-252-6086. Demand they oppose the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation and support immediate, unimpeded humanitarian access to Gaza.

Day 5: Take action to release Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya

Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, a pediatrician and the director of a hospital in the Occupied Gaza Strip, was arbitrarily detained and forcibly disappeared by Israeli forces in December 2024, along with other staff and patients, following a deadly raid on Kamal Adwan Hospital. Sign the petition and use the Urgent Action to contact the Embassy of Israel in the USA.

Day 6: Write to the Media

Submit a letter to the editor in your local paper (here’s some guidance from us!). Use your voice to push for U.S. accountability and call attention to the genocide being carried out with U.S. tax dollars. You can also post comments on relevant news articles and opinion editorials in newspapers.

Day 7: Send Postcards to Elected Officials

Write letters or send postcards to your Senators and Representatives and to President Trump at The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20500. Personal, handwritten messages get noticed!

Thanks for taking action!

After completing the challenge, fill out this form, and we’ll invite you to take three additional actions to deepen your advocacy and solidarity – you’ll also be entered into a drawing to win a “CEASEFIRE NOW” Amnesty t-shirt!
