Governance

GRASSROOTS DEMOCRACY IN ACTION

For the 2026 Regional Activism Conferences (RACs), governance and voting will take place in person across all five regions, with a hybrid option available through the Western Region (Los Angeles).

This approach ensures that every member has a meaningful opportunity to participate in Amnesty International USA’s grassroots decision-making, whether attending in person or online.

By participating in governance at RACs, you can:

  • Vote on resolutions that guide our advocacy and priorities
  • Engage in thoughtful discussion with fellow activists
  • Build connections across your region and beyond
  • Experience democracy in action within our movement

While in-person sessions foster energy, collaboration, and community, we know not everyone can attend. That’s why:

  • The Western RAC (Los Angeles) will offer hybrid governance sessions open to members from any region
  • Online participants will have the opportunity to fully engage in governance discussions and voting

Note, if you have registered for the in-person or virtual RAC through either of the first two links above, you will automatically be registered for the governance/voting sessions and receive your online voting credentials.

Governance session for any other regions

  • All voting eligible members who register to attend in-person RACs will automatically be registered to participate in governance sessions. (Please register to attend in-person here: Regional Activism Conference 2026).

  • For members wishing to participate in governance sessions ONLY in-person in Houston, Brooklyn, Baltimore, or Minneapolis, please email [email protected] at least 1 day prior to the start of the conference to verify your voting eligibility and be added to the registration list.
