(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – In response to reports that the Obama administration has launched its first drone strike in Pakistan since last year, Zeke Johnson, Director of Amnesty International USA’s Security & Human Rights Program, issued the following statement:
“The administration has resumed drone strikes in Pakistan without having addressed potentially unlawful killings documented by human rights groups. Killing people without necessary safeguards and transparency is a recipe for disaster. Even one wrongful death is one too many.”
