(New York) – Amnesty International and EPIX announced today that the U.S. 90-minute EPIX premiere of Amnesty International's Secret Policeman's Ball 2012 will air on Friday, April 27, at 11:30 pm ET / 8:30 pm PT.

A roster of extraordinary talent from the United States and the United Kingdom joined Amnesty International's Secret Policeman's Ball line-up at New York City's Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, March 4, 2012. The program was broadcast live on EPIX and EPIXhd.com. The all-star cast of music and comedy talent included Coldplay, Jon Stewart,  Mumford & Sons, Russell Brand, Kristen Wiig, Rashida Jones, Eddie Izzard, Fred Armisen, Hannibal Buress, John Oliver, Reggie Watts, Sarah Silverman, Seth Meyers, Noel Fielding, Jack Whitehall and many others.

"Amnesty International is honored that these incredible musicians and entertainers joined Amnesty International and harnessed the power of free speech to challenge and resist those who would constrain it," said Suzanne Nossel, Amnesty International USA's executive director. "As we enjoyed the freedom to mock, entertain and laugh, we remembered the bloggers in Egypt, China and Azerbaijan, a writer in Cameroon, comedians like Zarganar in Burma and countless others facing punishment for writing and saying what they think."

Amnesty International worked with EPIX, the multi-screen, multi-platform premium entertainment service, to reach a wide U.S. audience. EPIX is offering the event during its free preview weekend to all U.S. viewers through its website, EPIXhd.com as well as on the EPIX channel and across EPIX apps on Xbox, iPad, Roku and other popular devices.

"We are delighted to present this extraordinary lineup of music and comedy talent to our viewers," said Mark Greenberg, EPIX President and CEO "and to bring Amnesty International's important message to a new generation."

"EPIX's multi-platform availability helped Amnesty International bring its message to a new, diverse generation," said Andy Hackman, executive producer of Amnesty International's Secret Policeman's Ball. "We look forward to our continued partnership with EPIX."

About The Secret Policeman's Ball
The Secret Policeman's Ball is a world-famous comedy event, which celebrates freedom of expression with the very best in the arts and entertainment industry. Established in 1976, the Secret Policeman's Ball used anarchic humor to raise funds for the fight to defend human rights. As Amnesty International marked its 50th anniversary, the Secret Policeman's Ball this year was bigger than ever, and some of the world's best comedians and musicians teamed up for an evening of original, cutting edge entertainment.

About Free Speech
The Secret Policeman's Ball celebrates free speech — one of the first rights to be stifled by state authorities that seek to repress its citizens. Free speech is a basic human right denied to thousands of people around the world. The Secret Policeman's Ball aims to celebrate this right through comedy and music.
