(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Frank Jannuzi, deputy executive director for Amnesty International USA, issued the following statement in response to the passing of United States Senator Frank Lautenberg from New Jersey:
“Earlier today, the U.S. Senate lost one of its esteemed members. Senator Frank Lautenberg supported key issues including pushing for the rights of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and supporting a United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. Amnesty International USA sends its condolences to his family, staff and friends. He will be sorely missed.”
