Cassandra Guadalupe-Venegas is a Latina-American Human Rights Educator who currently serves as the Human Rights Education Training Specialist at AIUSA. She teaches Sociology & Human Rights at The College of New Jersey and Middlesex College. In her role as an educator, Cassandra advocates for accessible, research-based, and effective human rights education that empowers communities by providing the activism skills necessary to create positive social changes. Throughout her career, Cassandra has created Human Rights curriculum for 6-12 graders, advised Human Rights extracurricular clubs, incorporated social justice into social studies lessons, and facilitated human rights workshops for university students. Cassandra received her BA in Cultural Anthropology from Rutgers University-New Brunswick and her MA in Human Rights Practice from The University of Arizona. In her free time, Cassandra loves to spend quality time with family, read, practice yoga, spend time grounding in nature, and performing in musicals.
