Andrew Fandino headshot

Andrew Fandino is the Advocacy Director for the Individuals at Risk Program at Amnesty International USA, where he leads all the organizations lobbying work on cases of human rights defenders, prisoners of conscience, and individuals and communities at risk of human rights violations. He brings with him over 25 years of professional experience working with human rights defenders and is also a Latin America specialist.

Prior to joining AIUSA, Andrew worked for such organizations as Amazon Watch, the Burma Border Projects, Friends of the Earth, the Guatemala Human Rights Commission, Human Rights Watch, Peace Brigades International, and the U.S. Office on Colombia. He also spent five years living and working in Southeast Asia, creating his own NGO called the Committee for the Protection of Human Rights.
