Amy Fischer

Amy Fischer is the Director of Refugee and Migrant Rights at Amnesty International USA. Before coming to Amnesty, Amy served as a legislative assistant for Rep. Pramila Jayapal where she staffed the Congresswoman in the House Judiciary Committee and on issues such as immigration, civil rights and civil liberties, and criminal justice. Prior to that, she coordinated the Defund Hate Campaign at Detention Watch Network, worked at the Global Fund for Children, and was the policy director at RAICES.

Amy received her Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Maryland and her B.A. in Sociology and International and Global Studies at Brandeis University. Amy enjoys spending time with her family and going on walks with her dog, Dottie. In her personal capacity, Amy is a proud core organizer with Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid where she welcomes migrants to her community with dignity and open arms.
