For Banned Books Week 2021, Amnesty International hosted a celebration of the words, images and sounds that would disappear from our world if we did not fight for freedom of expression! Guest speakers included Deborah Caldwell-Stone, Director of the American Library Association’s Office for Intellectual Freedom; Jonathan Hernandez Perez, Governing Board Member of the International Federation of Library Associations; Pedro X. Molina, a Nicaraguan cartoonist and the creator and editor of the weekly political and social humor supplement “El Alacrán”; and María Luz Nochez, Journalist & Opinion Coordinator for El Faro in El Salvador.
