Amnesty International USA released an open letter calling on all federal, state, and local officials to meet their obligations to respect, protect, and fulfill the human rights of all people, including:
- Freedom from racism, discrimination and hate
- Freedom to peacefully protest and dissent
- Freedom from police violence and detention
- Freedom of the press to investigation and report the truth
- Freedom from armed intimidation at the polls
