Roles and Responsibilities
AIUSA’s Board of Directors consists of AIUSA members who are elected by the larger membership. The Nominating Committee plays an important role in supporting the Board in the election process. As a member of the committee, you help to identify, review, and recommend a diverse group of potential candidates who are interested in running for the Board.
The Nominating Committee also oversees the election of Board officers and makes recommendations for new Nominating Committee members.
Members of the Nominating Committee must be prepared to devote a significant amount of time to reviewing applications, interviewing prospective Board candidates, and checking their references during the late fall-early winter. The average weekly time commitment during this period is approximately 10 hours per week. The Nominating Committee also meets in-person over a weekend in January to select a proposed slate to present to the Board of Directors, as well as during the spring for the AGM.
Application Deadline
The application deadline is April 19.
Please upload your application and cover letter in the form below. Applications will be reviewed in late April and early May, interviews will take place in May, and a selection will be made by the end of June. If appointed, you will begin serving your two-year term starting Summer 2024. If you have any questions, please email Vivek Ramkumar, AIUSA Chief of Staff, at [email protected]Â
