Challenge 1

Please provide a detail overview of how you will work to accomplish the following membership growth goals in Kentucky (please keep each response to max 200 words):
A. Grow AIUSA’s presence in school/university settings by recruiting 5 new groups as official chapters*
B. Engage 5 new diverse communities throughout the state that will host Write4Rights events*
C. Develop local activists to serve in AIUSA leadership roles*
D. Increase AIUSA’s rapid response network by recruiting 500 people to sign up to receive our text message alert system within 10 months*
Challenge 2
The Rohingya are a predominantly Muslim ethnic minority in the Rakhine State of Myanmar. For decades, they have been oppressed by state-sponsored, institutionalized discrimination and persecution. Since late August 2017, the Myanmar military has waged a devastating campaign of ethnic cleansing and violence against the Rohingya minority. An unknown number have been killed in mass shootings, women and girls have been raped, and entire Rohingya villages have been burned to the ground. These crimes against humanity have been documented in a number of recent Amnesty International reports. As the Field Organizer for Kentucky, you are responsible for developing an organizing and campaign strategy that will lead to the build-up of grassroots advocates who will put pressure on Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell publicly denouncing the actions against the Rohingya and the Myanmar government officials responsible. Your assignment is to develop this plan. How will you build a grassroots network of advocates to achieve this goal?*
