Activist Training Sessions

Activist training sessions designed by youth, for youth.

From recruitment to running meetings, club fair to creative activism, and so much more, these sessions run by AIUSA’s Peer Trainers will give your group the skills they need to build strong groups that take effective action for human rights! Note that all times below are listed first in Pacific time and then Eastern time.

Running Your Group

AIUSA Peer Trainers will cover what to work on, student group coordinator 101, leadership structures, running meetings, and making an action plan for your group. You’ll leave with ideas and strategies for running your group, and have the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas with other Amnesty student group leaders. This session is highly encouraged for all groups, but especially new groups or new leadership teams as it will cover multiple topics in depth.

Wednesday, August 19 @ 5pm PST / 8pm EST

Recruitment & Retention

AIUSA Peer Trainers will cover the five steps required to both recruit and retain activists to your student group, including topics such as tabling, how to pitch Amnesty, and retention best practices. You’ll leave with ideas and examples for your group to implement in each of the five steps, and have the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas with other student group leaders
