Don’t Let President Trump Stop the Environmental Review of the Dakota Access Pipeline

Indigenous water protectors and their allies won an important victory in December when they convinced the US Army Corps of Engineers to put the brakes on the Dakota Access Pipeline and carry out an Environmental Impact Statement review of the pipeline’s crossing of Lake Oahe.

However, there is deep concern that the review hasn’t started yet, which may make it easier for President Trump to stop the review and complete the pipeline. By entering your number below you will be connected by Amnesty International USA to the Army Corps of Engineers. Once connected urge the Army Corps to start the Environmental Impact Statement review of the Dakota Access Pipeline immediately, before January 20th. Please feel free to use our script below.

Hello, my name is ___ and I live in _____(city, state). I am calling to urge the Army Corps to start the Environmental Impact Statement review of the Dakota Access Pipeline immediately, before January 20th. This review must not be stopped by the Trump administration.Furthermore, regardless of the outcome of the review, the Army Corps should seek the free, prior and informed consent of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe before any construction continues. Indigenous people have the right to be involved in decisions that carry a risk of harm to their human rights. Thank you.
