Board of Directors Mentorship Program

The Amnesty International-USA (AIUSA) Board of Directors invites dedicated youth human rights activists to participate in an AIUSA Board of Directors Mentorship Program in 2025. This Program will bring together up to eight interested youth with Board members to participate in a two-way learning exchange. This learning exchange will enable youth to more fully understand the governance of AIUSA as well as organizational leadership roles and responsibilities. At the end of the program, interested youth may consider applying to run for the Board of Directors.

Mentorship participants will take part in a series of meetings that include a virtual kickoff meeting on January 28, 2025, 8:00pm (eastern), two quarterly AIUSA Board meetings (including one in person gathering from February 19-23 in Detroit, MI), two Board committee meetings, a meeting with AIUSA’s Executive Director, and two one-one-one meetings with assigned partners. Additionally, participants will co-create and participate in a project to address a governance challenge in AIUSA.

Complete mentorship program description can be found here.

Youth human rights advocates born between September 1, 2001 and January 31, 2007 will be eligible for the Youth & Board Pairing Program 2025.

Opens: November 13

Closed: December 15, 11:59pm (eastern)
