APPLICATIONS FOR the 2026 BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEMBERSHip program are now closed
The Amnesty International USA (AIUSA) Board of Directors invites dedicated human rights youth activists to participate in an AIUSA Board of Directors Mentorship Program in 2026. This program will bring together up to five interested youth with Board members to participate in a two-way learning exchange. This learning exchange will enable youth to more fully understand the governance of AIUSA as well as organizational leadership roles and responsibilities. At the end of the program, interested youth may consider applying to run for the Board of Directors.
Mentorship participants will take part in a series of meetings that include a virtual kickoff meeting on January 28, 2026, 8:00 p.m. (Eastern), a virtual leadership and teamwork training on February 4, 2026, 8:00 p.m. (Eastern), two quarterly AIUSA Board meetings (including an in-person gathering from March 4-8 in Washington, D.C.), two Board committee meetings, a meeting with a member of AIUSA’s Executive team, and one-on-one meetings with assigned partners. Additionally, participants will engage in broader AIUSA governance processes.
