President Trump and his administration are causing immeasurable harm with their anti-immigration agenda. And they are covering it up with blatant misinformation and misleading claims — but we aren’t falling for the smoke and mirrors.
Exposing the abuses
We are ensuring that the world sees what’s happening. We’re in detention centers, uncovering violations and calling for safer conditions. We’re advocating for people who have been detained and deported. It’s imperative that we ALL know what’s really happening so that we can speak truth to power — and hold this administration accountable.
The Trump administration is abusing human rights with near impunity, and they think that they can get away with violating rights without anyone noticing or speaking out. And we are watching so many organizations and institutions bending at the knee.
But we refuse to. There’s too much at stake.
We’re leading the response to expose abuses against immigrant communities and defend those most at risk. And the collective strength and knowledge of our movement are essential in continuing to shine a light on injustice and demanding action.
Our efforts are working
Amnesty has been tirelessly pushing back on the Trump administration’s cruel mass deportation and detention agenda… and our efforts are resonating with people across the country.
A recent study from the Pew Research Center shows that a majority of people in the U.S.:
- Disapprove of increasing ICE raids on workplaces
- Disapprove of ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for many immigrants who came to the United States escaping war or other disasters at home
- Disapprove of the decision to suspend most asylum applications
We must keep up the pressure to end this system designed for cruelty, meant to dehumanize our immigrant friends and neighbors. You can start by dispelling fact from fiction about the Trump administration’s policies and actions.
