Moses Akatugba was imprisoned at 16 years old, tortured, and sentenced to death. Ten years and over 800,000 actions later, he walked out of prison on June 2, 2015.

Egyptian-American activist Mohamed Soltan was released from prison and deported to the United States on 30 May, after spending one year and nine months in jail in Egypt.

August 17, 2015

Bienvenu Matumo, a youth activist from the youth movement Lutte pour le Changement (LUCHA) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), was released from detention on 12 August without any explanation on the motivation behind his arrest and detention.

Omani national Mahmoud al-Fazari was released without charge on 6 August.

August 7, 2015

Two South Sudanese pastors, Reverend Yat Michael and Reverend Peter Yen, were released on 5 August after being sentenced to time already served in Khartoum, Sudan. The two have been in detention since their arrests on 21 December 2014 and 11 January 2015 respectively.
