(Washington, D.C.) -- A Chinese activist jailed in connection with her support for bloggers must be released, Amnesty International said today after she was sentenced to nine months in prison.
Today Amnesty International remembers those who lost their lives in the attacks of September 11, 2001 in the USA.
Human rights activist Fadhel Maki al-Manasif was conditionally released on 22 August. He was arrested on 1 May in connection with protests in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
Liu Zhenggang, a designer, has been released. He was released on 24 June on medical grounds. He remains under surveillance at his home in Beijing, China.
