Jabbar Savalan, member of the youth wing of the opposition Azerbaijan Popular Front's Party (APFP), has been targeted by the Azerbaijani authorities in response to his activity on Facebook. He has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison. Amnesty International considers him a prisoner of conscience.
Jabbar Savalan, arrested at the age of 19, was an active member of the APFP, taking part in meetings and demonstrations against the government. He was a bright history student at Sumgayit University.
