Amnesty International has learned that Rehab Abdel Bagi Mohamed Ali, aged 30, was released from prison in Sudan on 24 September. Appeals sent by Amnesty International members are said to have been instrumental in securing her release.

Sudan: Opposition Leader Detained Without Charge (UA 211/14)
Mariam al-Sadiq al-Mahdi, deputy leader of Sudan’s National Umma Party (NUP), was arrested on 11 August at Khartoum Airport. She is currently detained without charge in an unknown location.
