Oil, gas and mining industry operations too often go hand in hand with allegations of human rights abuses.

Extracting resources can contaminate the land, water and air affecting health and livelihoods. Local people are often excluded from economic benefits. In many cases, corporations operate without providing key information to communities while governments fail to provide legal means for people to hold companies accountable.
