A leader of the peasant farmers of El Tamarindo receives a death threat. A few days before, several armed men attacked and threatened the community following the forced eviction of 43 families.
Community activists in Mexico state received telephone threats which could be linked to their work defending the right to fair access to water. They are at risk of further attacks.
Violent clashes during protests that started in early February give no signs of abating. So far, the official death toll stands at 23 people, with over 300 injured.
Security forces used excessive force to disperse homeless families from the rubble of their former homes, from which they were forcibly evicted on 18 February.
