The more people and support we secure for our Regional Conference, the more we will accomplish for the human rights movement, while ensuring an optimal experience for our attendees. Your participation in the conference is crucial to its success, so we all need to spread the word!
Here are a few ways you can help and show your support:
Lend Your Voice & Make An Impact On Social Media
Your voice is a powerful tool, it can generate an enormous impact while directly ensuring the success of the conference. We need YOUR help to spread the word about our upcoming conferences! Please also encourage your contacts, friends and family to be agents of social change by promoting the conference. Make sure to tag your posts with this year's official hashtag #OurWorld and download our social media tool kit here.
Supporting Organizations are instrumental in the success of our Regional Conferences and help us to sustain a movement of people fighting injustice and promoting human rights.
AIUSA provides Supporting Organizations with the resources to help promote the conferences. We will provide you with conference promotional materials, social media promotional language, and other materials you will need to drive participation to the AIUSA Regional Conference in your region. In return, AIUSA will provide admission tickets to the conference and will also list the name of your organization (text listing) on the conference website and other event materials. If you’d like to participate as a Supporting Organizationplease contact our Events Team at [email protected].
If you are attending the conference and can assist Amnesty International USA by promoting the event to your network of friends, family, and colleagues – you can join our Host Committee! This is the easiest way to show your support and it takes very little effort. Sign up now to have your name or your AIUSA's group name recognized on certain conference promotions including the event page.
We ask Host Committee members to confirm at least 6 attendees.
Amnesty International USA provides an email-able invite, along with Facebook and Twitter instructions to help you reach your goal. We will also provide you with a report to view all the attendees that confirm you as their Host Committee member.
Thank you for considering this opportunity, especially since a good percentage of our current members and activists first learned about Amnesty International at a Regional Conference!

Submit a Resolution
Submit a resolution by September 1, 2016 (student deadline: September 15, 2016)
One of the exciting things about Amnesty International is that, as a grassroots membership organization, members have a voice in what Amnesty does. Resolutions are the means by which members of AIUSA have the power to affect policy decision-making at the regional, national and international levels. This is your chance to exercise your democratic right as a member of AIUSA.
It’s easy to submit a resolution! You provide the idea, and we’ll help you put it in the proper format. Please contact the National Resolutions Committee at [email protected] if you have questions or would like more information about how to submit a resolution. You can also contact the NRC chair, Tom Benner, at [email protected], or 317-908-3181, with any questions.
The resolutions submission form will be available for download on this page soon.
Vote on Resolutions
In order to participate in the membership resolution process, you must be a dues-paying member of AIUSA. The good news is, it's not too late to become a member! Sign up here, or join or renew onsite to enjoy full participation in the AIUSA resolution process at the Regional Conferences. You can review the 2016 Midwest Regional Conference resolutions packet on the Activist REsource Community (ARC) here.
The Midwestern Regional Conference Planning Committee is looking for volunteers to help out at the Regional Conference! If you are interested in volunteering for the Regional Conference, please submit this application by Friday, September 16th by 5:00pm EST. Volunteers are expected to volunteer for at least three hours, and in return, will receive complimentary registration. Volunteers will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. There are a limited number of spaces, so we encourage you to apply early.
The more people attend our Regional Conference, the more we will accomplish for the human rights movement and the better experience everyone will have, so we all need to spread the word! Challenge yourself or your group to sign up at least 1, 2, or 3 more people! In fact, a good percentage of our current members and activists first learned about Amnesty International at a Regional Conference! Let's get to it!
Interested in making a monetary donation or donating in-kind services?
Our Regional Conferences count on the support of individuals like yourself to ensure we have another successful year. If you are a business owner or work for a local business and are interested in providing support to the conference via an in-kind gift, pro bono service or a monetary donation, we would like to hear from you. Event support from businesses enables us to enhance our conference and improve our attendees’ experience, while keeping the costs down for our members.
We tailor each partnership to offer unique and highly visible marketing opportunities. Support for Amnesty International USA helps to demonstrate a company’s support for human rights, while exposing its brand to hundreds of our loyal supporters, community leaders and members.
We are looking for businesses to assist with the following (this is a list of a few opportunities): videography, photography, underwriting a block of tickets or travel for emerging leaders to attend, venues to host social events, and companies interested in supporting the conference as local corporate supporters.
Please contact our Director of Events, Johnny Gonzales at [email protected] or 212.633.4181 for more information.
Online pre-registration has now closed but you can still join us in Detroit and register onsite! Registration will reopen at the conference on Friday afternoon.
