Activists in Harrisburg, PA are taking action on this tragedy in health care. On Friday, May 11th (just before the U.S. stops to celebrate mothers on Mother's Day) concerned activists will gather to take a stand on maternal mortality.
The event takes place on Friday, May 11th at the capitol rotunda in Harrisburg's Capitol building. The maternal mortality quilt created by Ida May Gaskins will be on display from 9am-3pm in the rotunda area. At 10:30, supporters will arrive for a short rally and then from 11am-12pm there will be a press conference. Later that evening, there will be a cocktail reception with art and an awards reception for a local and global safe motherhood advocate.
