It is our sincere pleasure to invite you to this year's Midwest Regional Conference. Join us,Friday, October 7, 2016 – Sunday, October 9, 2016 for a weekend full of human rights learning, networking and growth in the great city of Detroit, MI. The conference will bring together hundreds of Amnesty members and other human rights activists from around the region. With our Regional Conference Planning Committee and Regional Office as co-hosts, together we will continue our tradition of engaging in networking opportunities, inspiring plenaries, outstanding keynotes, and hands-on skill-building workshops as well as shaping the policies of the organization.
Through interactive programs and workshops, exceptional speakers and engaging exhibits, the Regional Conference will facilitate discussions about human rights issues in the United States and around the world and motivate us to take action. As activists, we will be challenged to initiate change within our own communities. This will only happen with you - we need you there!

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP)
AIUSA members and staff are encouraged to create and organize sessions that will grow the movement, inspire, and lead to positive change. Sessions will help create a diverse and inclusive agenda for the 2016 Regional Conferences, while helping to shape the regional dialogue for human rights activists. Our goal is to highlight the human rights work we are doing locally, nationally, and globally while elevating activism in our host city of each regional conference. Sessions will be selected and approved by the Regional Planning Committees made up of member leaders in each region, in consultation with staff. Members and staff are encouraged to collaborate on proposals.
The RFP process is being hosted on the Activist Resource Community (ARC): http://arc.amnestyusa.org/l/li/in/. All submissions must be received by July 15th.
SUBMIT A RESOLUTION
Submit a resolution by September 1, 2016 (student deadline: September 15, 2016)
One of the exciting things about Amnesty International is that, as a grassroots membership organization, members have a voice in what Amnesty does. Resolutions are the means by which members of AIUSA have the power to affect policy decision-making at the regional, national and international levels. This is your chance to exercise your democratic right as a member of AIUSA.
It’s easy to submit a resolution! You provide the idea, and we’ll help you put it in the proper format. Please contact the National Resolutions Committee at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions or would like more information about how to submit a resolution. You can also contact the NRC chair, Tom Benner, at email@example.com, or 317-908-3181, with any questions.
The resolutions submission form will be available for download on this page soon.
If you (or a member of your group) are 17 years of age or younger, AIUSA requires that this waiver agreement be completed by a legal guardian and that a chaperone accompany you for the entire duration of the conference. AIUSA does not assume responsibility for minors.
Registration coming soon, please check back frequently for updates.
