Khaled al-Junaidi, was released without charge on 27 November. He had been detained since 6 November, possibly as a result of his peaceful political activism.
Three Egyptian activists are facing trial for taking part in a protest on 30 November 2013. The charges against them may arise solely from their opposition activism.
Ghazi Abbasi, Abdul-Reza Amir-Khanafereh, Abdul-Amir Mojaddami and Jasim Moghaddam Payam, have all been executed. All were members of Iran’s Ahwazi Arab minority.
Charges against Najlaa Mohammed Ali and Amin Senada were dropped on 2 December. The two activists had been at risk of imprisonment or flogging for ‘indecent behavior’.
