Ghazi Abbasi, Abdul-Reza Amir-Khanafereh, Abdul-Amir Mojaddami and Jasim Moghaddam Payam, have all been executed. All were members of Iran’s Ahwazi Arab minority.
Khaled Khalifa Mahmud, was sentenced to death in October 2009. His confession that was allegedly obtained under torture, he is at imminent risk of execution in Iraq.
Canadian-Iranian national Hamid Ghassemi-Shall, who had been sentenced to death in Iran in 2008, was released on 23 September after spending over five years in prison.
Abdolreza Ghanbari and two others had their death sentences overturned. However, Mohsen and Ahmad Daneshpour Moghadam, are still at risk.
