Among the distinguished plenary speakers will be Mary Robinson, former U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, John Shattuck, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor; Jessica Stern, who was Director of Russian, Ukrainian and Eurasian Affairs at the National Security Council and "superterrorism" Fellow at the Council on Foreign Affairs; and Taslima Nasrin, an best-selling author, medical doctor and outspoken critic of religious fundamentalism from Bangladesh.
