Saudi Arabia: Release Abdulaziz al-Sunaidi (UA 258/15)

Saudi Arabian activist Abdulaziz al-Sunaidi was sentenced by the counter-terrorism court on 13 October to eight years in prison followed by an eight-year travel ban for posting on Twitter. He was denied access to a lawyer throughout his detention and trial. He is a prisoner of conscience.
 
1) Please write immediately in English, Arabic or your own language:
  • Calling on the authorities to release Abdulaziz al-Sunaidi immediately and unconditionally as he is a prisoner of conscience detained solely for exercising his rights to freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly;
  • Urging them to ensure that Abdulaziz al-Sunaidi’s conviction and prison sentence are quashed.
