Indonesia: Provide Medical Treatment to Johan Teterissa (UA 289/15)




Malukan prisoner of conscience, Johan Teterissa, has been suffering from severe pain in both his legs for more than a month. The prison authorities have repeatedly denied his request to seek medical treatment at a hospital.
1) Please write immediately in English, Indonesian or your own language:
  • Urging Indonesian authorities to ensure that Johan Teterissa immediately and fully receives any medical treatment he may require;
  • Calling on them to immediately order an effective and independent investigation into the Batu prison authorities’ refusal to arrange prompt and appropriate examination and medical care for him which could amount to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
