FAQs

Question:

How can I receive an acknowledgment letter (receipt) for the donations I have made to Amnesty International?

Answer:

Please contact Member Services at [email protected] or by phone at 212.633.4254, M-F 9:00am -5:30pm EST.

Question:

Am I a member of Amnesty International? I volunteer for a local group.

Answer:

No, you only become a member once you have paid annual dues. While we appreciate your activist work, that does not constitute membership in Amnesty. It is also important to sustain the organization financially. Once you become a member, you will receive our quarterly Amnesty International Magazine, and you will have access to the “Members Only” section on the website. You may also vote in Board Elections and on resolutions at the Annual General Meeting.

Question:

What is my Amnesty membership ID number?

Answer:

The number starting with one or several zeroes (eg. 0012345) on the top portion of all of our mailings is your membership ID. It allows access to Members Only page at our website.

Question:

How do I change my credit card on file?

Answer:

To change your credit card information on file, or generally to change any member information on file, please contact Member Services at [email protected] or by phone at 212.633.4254, M-F 9:00am -5:30pm EST.
