Raqiyah’s current role as Stewardship Specialist in Major Gifts uses her writing talents to communicate with and engage major donors in Amnesty’s worldwide work. Her past roles with AIUSA have included writing campaign updates, messages, managing teams, and training young activists to speak publicly on issues like police brutality, the Muslim Ban, & the Syrian Refugee Crisis.
Raqiyah is also an author (“The Man Curse” Simon & Schuster), radio DJ on NY’s 107.5 WBLS, & former journalist. As a teen, she was president of her local NAACP Youth Council. In college, she founded Penn State Altoona’s Diversity Union in response to racism. As a journalist, she coordinated Brooklyn community events.
