As Amnesty International USA’s Human Rights Defenders (HRD) Campaigner, Emily Walsh leads the organization’s work with and on behalf of human rights defenders in the USA and abroad. Emily supports the planning and delivery of Amnesty International USA’s campaigns including Refugees Welcome, End Gun Violence and Human Rights Defenders.
Prior to her role as HRD Campaigner, Emily was a Campaigner with AIUSA’s Individuals at Risk program. She has served as a human rights observer including at Standing Rock, North Dakota and at the military commissions at US Naval Station Guantanamo Bay. Emily received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Philosophy from Kalamazoo College.
