Detained Student Activist Released!
On August 23, 2013, journalist Shi Tao was released from prison. After over eight years in prison and a long campaign of support by Amnesty International supporters, this journalist has his freedom!
On February 8, 2013 Mao Hengfeng was released to serve the rest of her term at home. She thanks everyone who campaigned on her behalf, and her husband believes she is home again due to the international and domestic calls for her release.
Wang Lihong, a human rights activist, has been released. She was released on 20 December from Beijing Chaoyang Detention Center.
Liu Zhenggang, a designer, has been released. He was released on 24 June on medical grounds. He remains under surveillance at his home in Beijing, China.
