Nigerian Torture Survivor Freed!

Moses Akatugba was imprisoned at 16 years old, tortured, and sentenced to death. Ten years and over 800,000 actions later, he walked out of prison on June 2, 2015.

April 26, 2012

Amnesty International welcomed the transfer of two detainees out of Guantanamo. Amnesty International has long called for them, and all other Guantanamo detainees, to either be charged and fairly tried or released.

February 10, 2012

On January 11, 2012, Amnesty International, Witness Against Torture, the National Religious Campaign Against Torture, the Center for Constitutional Rights and over 60 other organizations marked the 10 year anniversary of "war on terror" human rights violations at Guantanamo.

Amnesty was out in force combating former Vice President Dick Cheney's disinformation campaign, demonstrating at the Department of Justice in Washington, DC and the Today Show in New York City.
