Nigerian Torture Survivor Freed!
Omani writer, journalist and human rights activist Sulaiman al-Ma’mari was released without charge on 19 May, following 22 days detained in solitary confinement. The Omani authorities have yet to give a reason for Sulaiman al-Ma’mari’s arrest.
Activist Dmitry Vorobyovsky, who had been taken to a psychiatric hospital on 6 May and subjected to involuntary psychiatric treatment, was released following a court order on 12 May.
Omani poet, writer, film critic and human rights defender, Abdullah Habib was released without charge on 4 May.
Photographer and prisoner of conscience Ahmad Fardan has been released after completing his three-month prison sentence on 18 April.
