Moses Akatugba was imprisoned at 16 years old, tortured, and sentenced to death. Ten years and over 800,000 actions later, he walked out of prison on June 2, 2015.

Turkish academics Muzaffer Kaya, Esra Mungan, Kıvanç Ersoy and Meral Camcı were released from pre-trial detention on 22 April. The prosecution against them for ‘‘making propaganda for a terrorist organisation’’ following their support to a peace appeal has stopped but they have not been acquitted.

Union leaders and factory workers Myo Min Min and Naing Htay Lwin, and labour activists Naing Zaw Kyi Win and Thu Zaw Kyi Win were released from Insein prison in Yangon, Myanmar’s largest city, on 17 April. They were released as part of a Presidential pardon which saw the release of 83 prisoners, including prisoners of conscience Amnesty International has campaigned for.
