Nigerian Torture Survivor Freed!
Malukan prisoner of conscience, Johan Teterissa, was granted medical treatment by prison authorities for a condition affecting both his legs and hindering his movement.
One of the two Papuan students tortured or otherwise ill-treated by police has been
released. The other is still in detention and has been charged for his peaceful political
activism in Indonesia’s West Papua province.
On 12 March, Kimanus Wenda traveled from Nabire prison to Jayapura, capital of Papua province, accompanied by his lawyer, to seek medical treatment for a suspected tumor in his stomach.
