Fereshteh Halimi, the wife of human rights lawyer Mohammad Mostafaei, was released on August 7th. Her brother and father, both of whom had been arrested, had been released by August 3rd. They were arrested to pressure Mohammad Mostafaei to turn himself in; he has now left Iran for Norway.

Egypt: Do Not Challenge Acquittal of Witnesses to Killing (UA 80/15)
Prominent women’s human rights defender Azza Soliman is due in court on 4 July, along with 16 others who witnessed the police killing of a left-wing activist. All risk up to five years’ imprisonment and a fine of up to 50,000 Egyptian pounds.
