Uphold the Rights of Victims of Armed Groups

Amnesty International works to identify and overcome the key obstacles that victims of terrorism and armed groups face in claiming and fulfilling their right to effective remedy, reparation, truth and justice, and to develop concrete steps to assist, support, and campaign for those obstacles to be removed.

States are required to investigate acts of violence and intimidation and bring the perpetrators of crimes under international law to justice through fair trials where the rights of victims are fully recognized and respected. Amnesty also supports the efforts of victims of terrorism to seek reparations through civil litigation and other means.
