Security with Human Rights Campaign
Working at the intersection of national security and human rights
Amnesty International USA's Security with Human Rights Campaign works to end human rights violations committed in the name of national security, ensure accountability for them, and demand they be replaced by measures that effectively ensure both security and human rights.
- Torture: Stop torture and ensure accountability
- Surveillance, Free Expression and Discrimination: End unlawful and repressive surveillance and monitoring practices that target minority communities and put human rights defenders at risk
- Guantanamo: Close Guantanamo and end indefinite detention
- Drone Strikes, Lethal Force and Global War: End secrecy and ensure that all use of force complies with the law
The Security with Human Rights Camapign seeks to counter harmful narratives by telling personal and human stories; highlighting the role of fear, hate and insecurity in fueling ongoing abuse; and promoting our alternative vision for security with human rights.
